What is a daily job report?
A Daily Job Report, also known as a "log", is contracting 101. The daily job report is a journal of everything happening on a jobsite. The report contains key events that occur on the jobsite including: weather conditions, progress made, equipment onsite, inspections passed, phone conversations, subcontractor progress, deliveries and visitors.
You might not know it but your contractors are already filling out a daily job report. Most likely they are keeping it in written journals, emails, excel spreadsheets etc.
eJobsite Portal (EJP) has taken the process of Daily Job Reports online and made the process more collaborative. The great thing about EJP is that we are not asking your contractors to do something they are not already doing. We are just asking them to do it in our application so the information is accessible to all the team members.

What will my contractors need to use EJP?
To access EJP on the jobsite, your general contractors will need the following:
- - Computer (Laptop, netBook, Desktop)
- - Internet Access
- - Digital Camera
We recommend supplying a DSL internet connection for projects over 12 weeks that have a job trailer on site. You will save money in the long run versus using a typical air card, and your performance will be faster!

As an owner, how do I get my general contractors to participate in eJobsite Portal?
If you are already using Expesite, many of your GCs are already familiar with the application. Therefore, the fastest way to get started would be to issue a memo from your construction department detailing the requirements. In addition, we have seen great success when owners include EJP usage in their contract documents and the actual building plans.

One of our Project Team members didn't receive an email communication from eJobsite Portal. What happened?
Sometimes our emails are caught by the Junk Mail and Spam filters because the same email is being sent to a group of people from an unrecognized source. Search your Junk Mail folder for emails from expesite.com. To help prevent further issues, make sure your project team members place www.expesite.com in their safe senders list.

How do you manage the training of General Contractors and their Superintendents?
The success of eJobsite Portal rests solely with the ability of the Owner's General Contractor to properly and accurately complete their daily job reports and submit weekly progress reports. With ever General Contractor we ask that the contractor identify an eJobsite Portal Champion to aid in this effort.
